Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - The idea of trashing your wedding dress after hundreds of hours of stress from planning a wedding has some mass appeal to some very non-traditional brides. They can creatively and professional capture a unique photographic image of their moments as a bride. The typical choice for a wedding dress is to protect the wedding dress before the wedding and then preserve it for the future…“Their future wedding? Their daughter’s wedding?” Not anymore!!! Do something fun! Trash the dress for charity! Trash the Dress events happen all over the world including in cities like Chicago & London. On December 20th at 12noon the Crowne Plaza Harrisburg, along with the photographic genius of Scott Church, will be hosting the first ever Trash the Dress event in Pennsylvania. Local brides and bridesmaids get your dresses ready to be photographed jumping into the pool at the hotel and dodging water balloons from across the room! Participants who want to trash their dress pay $50. One half of the proceeds pays for a 11x14 ready to frame photographic print of the bride in her dress plus a CD full of images from the day, the other half will be directly donated to The Four Diamonds Fund and Penn State Children’s Hospital. Anyone over the age of 18 with a formal dress, (old prom dress, bridesmaid dress that can never be worn in public again) should plan to attend. Spectators are welcome to attend and encourage the dress destroying festivities. This time, there will be no stress…just a mess and amazing fun making it! History: Scott Church began his career in the early 90's, torn between the flash supermodel glam mentality and the skateboard post punk hardcore work ethic. His career has consistently walked the line between Rock Star Beauty and Do It Yourself Superhero. He has strived to create the best, most polished and beautiful images possible, then has done all that he could to give those images away for as little as he could ask, in many cases, for nothing at all. Scott is an internationally recognized, award winning, portrait photographer who has taught various photography workshops to hundreds and photographed people all over the world. He has published six book collections of photography with his most recent “men” released December 1st. Despite continuing to travel extensively, he still lives and keeps his studio in the same small town of Lebanon, Pennsylvania that he grew up in. His favorite photograph is always... the next one.
